Jerry Spinak

Jerry apprenticed for several years with one of North America’s foremost, transplanted traditional Chinese Masters – Mak Ying Po.  Master Mak was a senior apprentice of the famous Master Tung Ying-chieh, who himself was a senior disciple of Master Yang Ch’eng-fu, the originator of the popular Yang style.

Jerry is a 4th generation disciple of Master Yang, and teaches a traditionally pure form of Yang T’ai Chi.  A retired professional community developer in the non-profit world, Jerry, who has been teaching traditional T’ai Chi for 37 years, now instructs both T’ai Chi and Qigong full time.

As a 4th generation disciple of the originator, Yang Ch’eng-fu, Jerry teaches a pure form of traditional Yang T’ai Chi with a view to enhance and protect one’s health.  The Yang style, one of three basic T’ai Chi styles, is practiced by 80% of T’ai Chi practitioners in the world.    He also instructs in Sword, Saber, ‘fixed’ and ‘moving’ Push-hands, and Dalu.  These advanced forms of T’ai Chi are taught after a student thoroughly learns the basic long T’ai Chi Chuan form.
